Give me a break...

I am tired of the talk of iPod. I don't have one and think they are a waste of money. I have cd players, a cd burner, and that is all I need. I don't want to waste money always having to buy new songs to fill a stupid player.

Well, you can tell I am not a music person LOL! I like music, but I wouldn't buy an iPod to just let it collect dust. I waste enough money on toys that I should play with. I have a PS2 and an Xbox, and games... but I never play them enough to justify all the money into them. Sure my brothers love to use them, but hey they can do without lol.

Well this news article takes the cake.

But in unveiling its new video iPod on Wednesday, the company did more than show off its latest gadget. It also highlighted, in dramatic fashion, the seismic shifts taking place across the media spectrum. The days when what we hear or see is pre-determined by a static program schedule are going by the wayside.

Instead consumers, more than ever before, are firmly in control of their media, choosing content that is "liquid" and can flow through multiple devices.
...
"I think this is going to be a real ground-shifter," said Carl Goodman, director of digital media at the Museum of the Moving Image in New York. "It could completely alter the relationship consumers have with their video media. If you're talking about the DVD player or the VCR, those are toast. "

Come on get real! iPod leading to the downfall of the DVD? DVD will kill the VCR when they become easier to record like a VCR... and DVDs will be replaced by flash drives. Why? Lets face it, DVDs are too fragile... they scratch too easy. I welcome the next generation media, which I think will be flash drives connected via USB or simiar port into a Media Center Computer.

Apple should be tickled pink that they are getting so much free press. Who says that corporations own the media?

Forget the fact that I contributed to giving them free press by even writing this post....

Testing take two...

I tried yesterday to "mail it in" a post... but as of yet it hasn't
seemed to work. So I will try again, from another, stronger email account.

Cross your fingers!

Sox Win!

Did the ball go into the dirt? I think it did, but others will disagree. What am I talking about? Game 2 of the ALCS!

I wouldn't call it a must win for the Sox, but I am glad they pulled it out. Any Angels out there, sorry but hey that is how the ball bounces. No pun intended.

Actually, why do they even have that rule in baseball? I always thought it was stupid, and just a way to make a simple game more complex, and make you sound smart when you explain the rule to baseball novices. So I say get rid of the stupid rule, but you know they won't. Game 3 is tonight... lets go Sox!!!

I found this funny...

I read a lot of blogs, and I found out something.
The most recent embarrassment for Google? Type "failure" into the Google search field. The number one result: President George W. Bush's official bio hosted by the White House Web site. "We've received some complaints recently from users who assume that this reflects a political bias on our part," wrote Marissa Mayer, Google's director of consumer products on the company's blog.
If you also type in "miserable failure" the same thing happens. I dunno why republicans are so angry though... #2 on the search is Michael Moores website. The whole thing makes me laugh though!

There is a God!!!

I can't believe it!!!

"The Simple Life" is over — at least on Fox. The network said Wednesday it has canceled the Paris Hilton - Nicole Richie reality series after the show's two stars no longer proved compatible.
The show may not be dead though... another network may pick it up. So don't throw away your crosses and wooden stakes just yet, you might still need them.

Ouch...

How to kick two balls at once...

sorry bad joke.

We have polls!

The experiment is over...

I doubt I will be adding anything else to the sidebar, unless something really neat catches my eye. I don't want the page to take forever to load!

Sox game 2 tonight... good luck Sox!

Sox...

Looks like it is going to be a series... the Angels just outplayed the Sox tonight. They threw out two runners while their own team stole twice??

Good luck to the Sox on game 2!

Fun with blogger...

If you look towards the sidebar, you may notice that I have been adding a whole bunch of crap. Why? I am learning html the fun way, just playing with it. So I look for things to add, which makes the site look trashy but hey it then better reflects the blogger. I added Technorati, but it isn't opening. Strange... will have to look into that.

Colts won today, and Manning/Harrison are still making records. I don't think they really care about records, or at least I hope they don't. It would be great to bring a championship to Indiana, especially Indianapolis. I don't think Indy would know what to do!

What happens next...

I admit it, I had never dreamed that the White Sox would sweep the Indians!

The White Sox will face the defending World Series champion Boston Red Sox in the American League Division Series beginning Tuesday afternoon at U.S. Cellular Field.

Needing a win and then help from the New York Yankees to force a one-game playoff with Boston for the AL wild card, the Cleveland Indians dropped its season finale 3-1 to the White Sox on Sunday.

The loss concluded a disastrous final week for the Indians (93-69), who dropped six of their last seven games and missed the playoffs for the fourth straight season. The defeat also handed the wild card to the Red Sox -- a postseason spot that appeared to belong to Cleveland just a few days ago.

Well this should be a fun series. GO SOX!!!

Blah...

I need to take my car into the shop. The door handle broke... since when do door handles break? I tell you, to keep prices down on autos they are building them cheaper and cheaper every year.

In other news, my brother and his fiance announced their wedding date. May 13 is the lucky day in Virginia Beach. We live in Indiana, so it sould be a fun trip!

Anything-But-Catblogging Friday

You see cats everywhere, why can't other animals have a shot?

Whatcha learnin'?

Well if you look around, you might notice that I have been adding stuff to this page... playing around actually. I added a couple buttons, then took some away. I don't prefer any browser, just anything other than Internet Explorer. That browser is pure evil. So thus the buttons for Opera and Firefox. I would have put Netscape but they were too good to make an easily findable button... so screw them! I got a blogroll going on, so if you want your name added to the mix just drop me a line. I have a new email addy, markedhoosier@gmail.com if anyone cares to write.

I also changed comments over to haloscan, just to try it out. I didn't mind the blogger comment system, but halo lets you have neato pictures! :D

If anyone has anything else that I can try, just let me know. I will break the template sometime soon, lets see if your tip makes me reload the whole blog!
